KOLKATA: Coal India Limited (CIL), in a tie up with Tata Medical Centre (TMC) has sanctioned Rs 41.11 Crores, out of its Corporate Social Responsibility kitty, to the TMC Trust for construction of housing facilities for cancer patients and their relatives in Kolkata.
Christened ‘Premashraya’ the home away from home is being built close to the ‘Tata Medical Centre’ in New Town, Rajarhat, and is capable of housing 525 people.
For the outdoor patients getting treated at TMC, especially those from cities away from Kolkata, the building shall offer them housing facilities. Expected to be completed by March 2015, the maintenance of the home will be done by the Premashraya Trust.
A MoU was signed recently between CIL and TMC represented by Ajit Kumar, GM (CSR & HRD) and Dr. Mammen Chandy, Director, TMC.
