NEW DELHI: Clovia, a lingerie brand announced their support for Akanksha, a Haridwar based NGO that works with special children. As a part of Clovia’s #TheRightSupport Initiative, in November, for every order made on Clovia.com, the company will donate Re. 1 to Akanksha.

In addition, Clovia will provide users the option to contribute towards this cause as well. Users while making a purchase on Clovia.com can add on an amount of Re. 1 to their cart. The contribution from Clovia will be utilised for the vocational training needs of special kids through Akanksha’s Development Center for Exceptional Children.

Akanksha – a charitable trust, was formed in 1988 by professionals of different fields with the objective to serve special children of the society at the time when they were casted out of society. The NGO works out of BHEL, Haridwar, where it has been allotted a building in the campus. To help young adults they have also expanded their activities in the area of vocational training and started a Sheltered Workshop.

Akanksha plans to provide employment opportunities to these differently-abled people and offer them dignity of labour and a chance to rehabilitate them with the social mainstream. They are buying Agarbatti making machines and material from this money. A big conglomerate has agreed to buy this stock from them which translates into a stipend of Rs. 3000-5000 each for these kids allowing them to contribute towards their family incomes.

With this initiative Clovia wants to involve multiple stakeholders who can make a difference and help spread awareness about the work that Akansha is doing and invite more contributions for the NGO. Additionally, with each purchase of Clovia, users can feel good knowing that they are contributing to the development of special children.

To further this cause, Team Clovia has started a crowd fundraiser for Akanksha with each individual contributing and asking friends and family to join #TheRightSupport (ketto.org). Inspired by ‘Akanksha’s efforts, 3 Mumbai professionals and avid cyclists decided to their bit to raise awareness of the campaign.

Mitesh Daga, Sumit Gupta and Kunal Agrawal formed a team called the ‘Clovia Pink Panthers’ and participated in the Ultra Cycle Race of Deccan Cliffhanger held in first week of November. They cycled for 654 Kms (from Pune to Goa) in 27 hours to raise awareness for ‘Akanksha’.

Clovia is India’s premier lingerie and sleepwear brand backed by Ivy Cap Ventures and Zurich-based Mountain Partners AG. The company designs, manufactures and sells premium fashion lingerie, innerwear, nightwear and shapewear. Clovia’s exclusive online outlet in India is called www.clovia.com

At Clovia, highly skilled designers, fashion experts create exquisite, playful and designer innerwear ranging from bras, briefs, shapewear to nightwear.  Sophisticated, sharp and suave, contrasted with flirty, fun and bold prints, and in keeping with international designs and styles, Clovia wants to redefine the Indian lingerie market, and help customers choose beyond standard cuts, shapes and colours. The company’s mantra is – lingerie is a critical part of your wardrobe and it doesn’t need to be drab and boring.

The company has been growing at an impressive 100% every quarter and is currently shipping over 250,000 units monthly.
