PATNA (India CSR): In a landmark moment for higher education in Bihar, Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) has officially become the first state government management institution in Bihar to gain membership in the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International) – the world’s largest global business education network.
At a ceremonial event held at the CIMP campus, Dr. Prathap Das, Regional Head – South Asia, AACSB International, formally handed over the AACSB Membership Certificate, Member Pin, and Welcome Kit to the institute.
The event was presided over by Dr. Rana Singh, Director of CIMP, and was attended by key institutional leaders, including Kumod Kumar (Chief Administrative Officer), Prof. Sunil Kumar (Professor of Practice & Associate Dean), and Dr. Rajashree Pillai (Professor), along with faculty, administrators, and dignitaries from academia and industry.

“This is a proud milestone for both CIMP and the state of Bihar,” said Dr. Rana Singh.
“By becoming an AACSB member, CIMP has taken a bold step toward aligning with globally benchmarked standards of excellence in management education. This membership signifies our intent to continuously evolve and lead with quality.”
CIMP already holds NBA accreditation and operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The AACSB membership further affirms the institute’s commitment to internationalization, academic rigor, and societal impact.
Marking the Beginning of a Global Academic Journey
Speaking at the event, Prof. Rajashree Pillai, who led the AACSB membership process at CIMP, reflected on the institute’s vision.
“AACSB membership is not the conclusion of a process—it is the beginning of a transformational journey,” she said.
“We now look forward to engaging more deeply with global institutions, enhancing assurance of learning, and strengthening our academic and research ecosystem in line with AACSB’s core values.”

She acknowledged the collective contributions of faculty and leadership that made this milestone possible.
AACSB Welcomes CIMP to Its Global Community
In his keynote address, Dr. Prathap Das, Regional Head – South Asia, AACSB International, applauded CIMP’s progress and leadership.

He formally presented the AACSB Membership Certificate, Pin, and Welcome Kit to Dr. Rana Singh, marking the official induction of CIMP into a global network of over 1,900 top business schools across more than 100 countries and territories.
The event concluded with renewed institutional resolve to pursue excellence and create meaningful global academic linkages in the years ahead.
