NEW DELHI: The Confederation of Indian Industry, in partnership with the National Foundation for Corporate Governance, is organizing the National Summit on CSR – Partnering the National Agenda on 29 April 2015 at New Delhi. The Summit is an annual CII flagship event to create a strong, sustainable CSR movement that seeks to address the crucial issues to generate ideas on matters relating to CSR. Shri. Pranab Mukherjee, Hon’ble President of India would be delivering the Inaugural Address.
The 2015 edition is being held in the backdrop of the increasingly significant role the private sector has been playing and can play in promoting equitable development in India.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister, in his Independence Day address, had also urged the corporate sector to come forward, partner and contribute to India’s social development in some key areas.
The summit will focus attention on the key national priorities and programmes that the Government has articulated and how India Inc can partner through their CSR interventions. In addition, as we complete one year of the CSR Mandate, this will be the right time to take stock and calibrate the CSR efforts to make it more effective and impactful.
The Summit will be a platform for sharing of opportunities, challenges and actual experiences of companies following the CSR mandate. A Session has also been included, where a panel of Secretaries of Government of India will share about specific schemes and programmes and the opportunities for companies to partner the same. The Summit will bring together business leaders, policy makers, senior CSR practitioners, media, civil society, academic and development agencies.
