Through its impactful initiatives, Castrol continues to manifest its commitment to fostering positive change and sustainable development within India’s trucking community, reflecting its vision for safer roads and healthier lives.

SANKAGRIRI (Tamil Nadu)/India CSR: In a move signaling reinforced commitment to road safety and the well-being of truck drivers across India, Castrol, one of the country’s foremost lubricant manufacturers, has unveiled its newest Castrol Sarathi Mitra training center in Sankagiri, Tamil Nadu on 22nd September 2023. The grand event was marked by the presence of esteemed representatives from Castrol India and the Sankagiri Lorry Owners Association.

Impactful Initiatives

Commitment to Trucking Community

Since its launch in 2017, the Sarathi Mitra initiative by Castrol stands as a beacon of the company’s ambition for cultivating a safer, healthier, and financially stable trucking community in India. The program has already trained over 200,000 truck drivers, impacting not just the drivers but also their families and the larger community, symbolizing a significant stride towards realizing safer road environments and enhanced lifestyle standards for truck drivers.

Promotion of Healthy Lifestyle

The Sarathi Mitra program emphasizes the adoption of a healthy lifestyle among truck drivers. It aims to change their perceptions and attitudes towards food and exercise, promoting healthier food choices and regular physical activity. This initiative is expected to boost the overall well-being and quality of life of the trucking community, enabling them to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives.

The inauguration of the new Sarathi Mitra center in Sankagiri is a significant milestone in Castrol India’s ongoing endeavors to bolster road safety and promote the well-being and financial empowerment of truck drivers across the nation.

Financial Empowerment

Digital Financial Literacy

Beyond physical well-being, the initiative also focuses on fostering financial empowerment among truck drivers by equipping them with knowledge and skills related to digital financial literacy. This holistic approach to welfare reflects Castrol’s commitment to ensuring the all-round development and welfare of the truck drivers, paving the way for their financial independence and resilience.
