NEW DELHI (India CSR): BYD India, a subsidiary of BYD, the world’s No. 1 New Energy Vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, has announced the implementation of a focused Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, aimed at strengthening essential community infrastructure across education and healthcare, in partnership with FEEED NGO. The launch took place on 28th January, 2026. The initiative reflects BYD’s long-term commitment to supporting community development through practical, on-ground interventions aligned with local needs.
The CSR programme has been structured with a clear emphasis on improving learning environments in schools and enhancing patient care facilities in hospitals. The approach prioritises long-term usability, learning, education and functionality, aligned with local requirements identified through on-site assessments and partner consultations.

As part of its education-focused initiatives, BYD India will support the development of a government school by improving overall campus infrastructure and facilities and providing learning tools and guidance. The interventions are designed to enhance safety, accessibility, and the quality of the learning environment, contributing to a more stable and supportive space for students and educators alike. The initiative reflects BYD’s belief that strong foundational infrastructure plays a critical role in enabling better educational outcomes.

In the healthcare space, BYD India’s CSR programme includes support for a government hospital aimed at strengthening patient care capabilities. As part of this effort, BYD will be providing advanced hospital beds to support improved treatment and recovery conditions. The intervention is intended to assist healthcare professionals in delivering more effective care while enhancing comfort and safety for patients.

Complementing the education and healthcare initiatives, the CSR programme also includes a limited environmental component in the form of a plantation drive, undertaken in collaboration with partner NGOs. While secondary in scope, the activity aligns with BYD’s broader sustainability philosophy and commitment to environmental responsibility.
Mr. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles (EPV) Business at BYD India, said, “At BYD, sustainability is not limited to what we manufacture or the technologies we deploy; it also extends to how we engage with the communities around us. Our CSR initiatives are focused on strengthening foundational infrastructure in education and advancing environmental efforts through structured, on-ground action. By working closely with experienced partners, we aim to deliver outcomes that are practical, measurable, and relevant to the communities we operate in.”
Speaking on the collaboration, FEEED NGO added, “Our collaboration with BYD enables the execution of structured, impact-driven initiatives that respond directly to community requirements. Whether it is supporting school development or enhancing healthcare facilities, this programme reflects a shared commitment to creating long-term value through thoughtful CSR implementation.”

Across all initiatives, BYD India’s CSR programme emphasises disciplined execution, partner-led implementation, and sustained community benefit rather than one-time interventions. By working closely with experienced organisations on the ground, the company aims to ensure accountability and lasting impact.
The CSR programme aligns with BYD’s global sustainability philosophy of “Technological Innovations for a Better Life,” extending the company’s commitment beyond mobility to responsible social engagement. As BYD continues to expand its footprint in India, it remains focused on contributing meaningfully to community development alongside its business growth.
BYD India currently supports customers through an expanding national network of 47 showrooms across 40 cities, providing sales, service and charging guidance.
Globally, BYD has sold over 14 million NEVs, contributing to the reduction of more than 121 billion kilograms of CO₂ emissions as of 30 November 2025 — equivalent to what nearly 2.03 billion trees would absorb over a year. The company’s leadership in sustainable mobility is further reflected in its inclusion among the Top 10 Most Valuable Global Automotive Brands by Kantar BrandZ and a ranking of #91 on the 2025 Fortune Global 500, with a brand value of USD 14.4 billion.
As BYD India progresses, the company remains committed to accelerating electric vehicle adoption, reducing environmental impact, and placing customers at the heart of its growth strategy.
