BEL Donates Rs 53 Lacs to Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum

BANGALORE: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has donated Rs. 53 lakhs as part of its CSR activities to Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum (VITM) for the upgrade and upkeep of the BEL Hall of Electronics at the museum in Bangalore.

The cheque for Rs. 53 lakhs was handed over by Mr Anil Kumar, CMD, to Mr K G Kumar, Director (VITM), on March 14, 2013, in Bangalore. Mr H N Ramakrishna, Director (Mktg); Mr Amol Newaskar, Director (OU); Dr Ajit T Kalghatgi, Director (R&D); Mrs K A Sadhana, Curator E (VITM); and other senior officers of BEL and VITM were present.
The BEL Hall of Electronics at VITM was inaugurated in June 2004 during the Golden Jubilee celebrations of BEL, with financial support to the tune of Rs. 150 lakhs from BEL.

The hall, located on the 3rd floor of the museum, is spread over 600 sq mtrs. The museum attracts a large number of visitors and the BEL Hall of Electronics is a major draw with a laser show on miniaturisation, Robo Show (Humanoid Robot & Hexapod) and 4D Theatre.
