Mumbai (India CSR): Beam Suntory, a world leader in premium spirits, is chartering further on its long-term sustainability commitments by pledging a tree plantation drive of 10,000 plants in Mumbai and Goa. Inspired by its Proof Positive commitments and Growing For Good vision, having a positive impact on the environment is central to Beam Suntory’s business, and fundamental to its culture across every facet of the value chain, from seed to sip.
Beam Suntory is committed towards fulfilling its environmental responsibility and investing heavily to reduce its footprint in water, the climate and forests. In line with its sustainability commitments, the tree plantation drive will take place in Goa, in a stretch of land near the airport while in Mumbai, the plantation drive will take place in Colaba.
Last year, Beam Suntory made a global announcement to invest more than $1 billion to make positive impacts on the environment, consumers, and communities through its Proof Positive program.
The Company further went onto set sustainability ambitions to go beyond net-zero carbon emissions, reduce water use by 50% and achieve 100% watershed replenishment. This also includes an investment of $500 million to engage consumers to make responsible choices, donate 1 million volunteer hours, foster greater diversity, equity and inclusion, and more.
