Cough and cold are two conditions that are regular occurrences in babies, which mostly leads to discomfort and worry among parents. In fact, there are numerous medications available at the counter, but a majority of parents prefer natural and mild approaches in handling their children. Cough and cold can be treated at home safely and naturally with the help of Ayurvedic treatment for babies. This blog will discuss some of these Ayurvedic cures with the importance of using Sitopaladi Churna for cough.

Cough and Cold Concept Among Babies

Infant cough and cold are generally caused by viruses. The flu symptoms may manifest as a nasal drip, congestion, sneezing, coughing, and rarely, low-grade fever. Despite the fact that these symptoms are not severe, they may pose a considerable inconvenience for the baby and concern for the parents. Therefore, Ayurvedic remedies are aimed at managing such symptoms and helping the baby heal naturally.

Ayurvedic Treatments

However, Ayurveda is aimed at keeping doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) in their natural state to ensure that people remain healthy. According to Ayurveda, cough and cold are a clear indication of an increase in Kapha dosha, which leads to congestion. Ayurveda tries to balance the doshas by using natural substances that are not too strong on the baby’s body.

AYURVEDIC TIPS FOR Cough and Cold in Babies

1. Honey and Ginger Juice (for babies above one year)

Both honey and ginger have been known to have anti-inflammatory properties thus good for consumption by anyone suffering from inflammation.

How to Use:

  • Combine one teaspoon ginger juice with one teaspoon honey.
  • Administer this mixture to the baby one or two times per day.

Benefits:

  • Ginger helps reduce inflammation and clear congestion.
  • Honey coats the throat and also assists in reducing coughing.

2. Turmeric Milk

Turmeric is indeed an effective anti- inflammatory and antimicrobial spice that aids in easing cold symptoms.

How to Use:

  • Take a spoonful of turmeric powder and mix it with a cup of warm milk.
  • Mix well and feed the baby with it before sleeping time.

Benefits:

  • This spice has properties that can effectively reduce mucus formation and ease inflammation.
  • The warm milk has a soothing effect on the throat and aids in helping the baby have a good night sleep.

3. Tulsi (Holy Basil) Leaves

Tulsi is highly valued in Ayurveda medicine due to its curative functions, especially to ailments relating to the respiratory system.

How to Use:

  • Crush a few fresh Tulsi leaves and boil in a cup of water.
  • Let it cool by straining the leaves out of the water.
  • You can give a few teaspoons of this Tulsi water at different times of the day for your baby.

Benefits:

  • It contains antiviral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory ingredients.
  • It has the advantage of unblocking the respiratory area and alleviating irritation on the respiratory system.

4. Carom Seeds and Garlic Vapours

Simply inhaling the smoke of Ajwain and garlic can be very helpful in getting rid of nasal problems and cough.

How to Use:

  • Toast a spoon of Ajwain seeds and two cloves of garlic by roasting them over low heat.
  • As for the roasted mixture, put it in a cloth and create a small pouch.
  • Let the baby breathe in the fumes from this pouch.

Benefits:

  • Both ajwain and garlic are known to possess substantial antimicrobial content.
  • The fumes aid in the unblocking of the nostrils to enable proper breathing.

5. Sitopaladi Churna

Sitopaladi churna for cough is an age-old formulation which has been proved to be very beneficial in treating cough and cold.

How to Use:

  • Sitopaladi Churna can be taken by mixing a teaspoon of it with honey for babies above one year or a little warm water.
  • This mixture needs to be administered to the baby 2-3 times a day.

Benefits:

  • Sitopaladi Churna is especially effective in Kapha dosha balancing.
  • Used to decrease secretion and has anti-inflammatory effects on the respiratory system.
  • It is also said that the churna is harmless especially when given to babies in small portions.

Baby Organo’s Formulation

While it’s easy to get the ingredients required for the other ayurvedic treatments, getting a proper natural and original Sitopaladi Churna might be difficult in today’s modern medicine market. That’s why there are websites like Baby Organo who are known for selling quality, natural ayurvedic medicines with the origins formulation to suit all the babies. So every parent out there, check out Baby Organo’s Sitopaladi Churna for cough which is 100% Ayurvedic and contains Pippali and Tvak.

If your kid is suffering from a cough or cold, it’s advisable to give them ayurvedic medicines as they will not have many side effects and are mild for babies and infants. Out of the several ayurvedic treatments out there Sitopaladi Churna for cough is one of the best ayurvedic formulations that’s proven to work well for babies. Hence worry not and go ayurvedic and make your baby have a healthy lifestyle.
