NEW DELHI: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley launched CSR initiative of Axis Bank –Axis Dil Se– on September 26, 2017 at an event in Delhi and appreciated the mission of the programme.
The programme seeks to aid educational development in some of the remotest, most challenging terrains – Leh, Ladakh and Kargil regions in the State of Jammu & Kashmir.
The initiative aims to help transform Educational opportunities in the remotest regions in India. Axis Bank seeks to support communities in becoming self-sustainable in terms of livelihood.
Axis Dil Se is a programme that seeks to aid educational development in some of India’s remotest, most challenging terrains – Leh, Ladakh and Kargil regions in the State of Jammu & Kashmir.
“This CSR initiative has reached a very beautiful but remote part of India. Axis Bank has done a commendable job in bringing this region – Leh, Ladakh and Kargil – into focus through their education initiative. Education is a great leveller and also the area where the assistance and improvement required is the maximum.”, said Arun Jaitley, Union Finance Minister, Government of India.
Shikha Sharma, MD & CEO – Axis Bank says, Our aim is to give the children in some of the border area schools of Leh, Ladakh and Kargil the similar schooling experience as children in the rest of the country. It is the happiness on the faces and the twinkle in the eyes of these children that give this project its purpose.
The Axis Bank Foundation already works with 221 districts in India, run 21 programmes and to date have helped create one million sustainable livelihoods.
Axis Bank’s 3 year-long CSR initiative aims to help transform educational opportunities in one of India’s remotest regions. Axis Dil Se initiative demonstrates that geography and environmentally challenging conditions need not be a limiting factor when it comes to doing good and helping communities., Axis Bank seeks to support communities in becoming self-sustainable in terms of livelihood. And education is the building block of not only livelihood but also of the future of the nation.
