MUMBAI: After hosting a successful tree plantation drive in Karnataka, India’s leading integrated logistics provider Allcargo Logistics, through its NGO Avashya Foundation has extended this initiative in the state of Rajasthan. Avashya Foundation in association with Grow-Trees.com, the exclusive Indian Planting Partner for United Nation’s Environment Program (UNEP), has planted 1711 trees in the periphery of Sitamata Wildlife Sanctuary, Rajasthan.
Activities such as these help purify the air, enhance the beauty of the surrounding and bring in optimism in people in the surrounding area.
This initiative also forms a part of Avashya Foundation’s flagship environment sustainability programme Maitree. In the last two years, Avashya Foundation has planted over 2,39,000 trees under this program.
Arathi Shetty – Non Executive Director of Allcargo and Avashya Foundation said, “This initiative is in line with Avashya Foundation’s endeavour to give back to society in several different ways. Planting trees is a classic investment that pays rich dividends for the planet and our aim is to plant 10 lacs trees in the next 5 years under this initiative. I would also like to take a moment to thank Grow-Trees.com for completing the drive successfully in Karnataka & Rajasthan.”
