RAIGARH (India CSR): Athena Chhattisgarh Power Limited (ACPL), a subsidiary of Vedanta Limited, is inviting expressions of interest (EOI) from Indian and international partners for the development of its railway infrastructure. The proposed project will include the construction of a railway line from the nearest take off station to the ACPL power plant site, as well as feasibility studies, design and engineering, land acquisition, and obtaining necessary approvals and clearances.
Turnkey Railway Project with Adjustable Scope
The successful partner will be responsible for delivering the project on a turnkey basis, including the development of railway lines, signaling, overhead equipment and associated infrastructure. ACPL will retain the right to change the scope of work before finalizing commercial terms, based on business and environmental requirements.
Vedanta Acquires 1200 MW Power Plant
Vedanta Limited is a multinational conglomerate with a revenue of $30 billion and a profit of $10 billion. The company plans to invest $20 billion in the next 4-5 years in various sectors, including oil and gas, renewable energy, display glass, semiconductors, mining, and smelting. The acquisition of ACPL is part of Vedanta’s expansion plans, as the power plant has a capacity of 1200 MW and is located in Chhattisgarh.
