MUMBAI (India CSR): Ambuja Foundation, in partnership with the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and district Health Departments, actively celebrated ‘Poshan Maah 2024’ in September. The campaign, aimed at raising awareness on nutrition, featured health camps, community programs, and rallies, focusing on improving the well-being of children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
The Foundation organized a range of activities, including ‘Godh Bharai’ (baby shower), ‘Annprashan’ (first solid food ceremony), and sessions on breastfeeding and family planning. These events were held at Anganwadi centers and skill training centers, where women and adolescent groups were educated on maternal nutrition and the importance of a balanced diet. Special camps were also held for pregnant and lactating mothers, counseling them on nutrition’s role in improving maternal and child health.
Nutrition Demonstration Sessions
One of the key components of the campaign was conducting nutrition demonstration sessions at Anganwadi centers. Mothers and caregivers were shown how to prepare affordable, nutritious meals, emphasizing the importance of a diverse diet. In the first week of September, the Foundation hosted a ‘Kichidi’ cooking session with mothers and children, aligning with the campaign’s theme, “What you eat makes you who you are.”

Long-Term Health and Education
Pearl Tiwari, CEO of Ambuja Foundation, emphasized the broader impact of the campaign: “Good health and education go hand in hand. With the launch of ‘Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi,’ we aim to build a foundation of health and education at the grassroots level that lasts a lifetime.” This initiative addressed malnutrition, especially among children and mothers, by raising awareness of lifestyle choices, nutrition habits, and hygiene practices for community well-being.
