PUNJAB (India CSR): Ambuja Cements, a part of the Adani Group, has relocated its Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Institute (SEDI) from Goniana to Bathinda, broadening its reach to benefit youth across 100 villages. This move is part of Ambuja Cements’ CSR efforts to improve local communities by offering skill development and entrepreneurial training.
Expanded Access and New Opportunities
The new SEDI Centre, now situated near the Bathinda bus stand, provides easier access for young people, increasing participation in vocational training programs. The center launched two vocational courses—Assistant Electrician and Microfinance Executive—aimed at improving employability for local youth. Plans are also in place to introduce a course in Beauty Therapy, further broadening the skill offerings.
Aiming for Economic Upliftment
The launch event highlighted SEDI’s mission to empower rural communities through practical skill-building. By focusing on vocational training, Ambuja Cements aims to foster economic growth and self-sufficiency in Punjab’s rural areas. “This initiative offers local youth valuable skills for a brighter, self-sustained future,” said a representative from Ambuja Cements. Trainees were encouraged to make the most of these opportunities for career advancement.
Commitment to Rural Development
Ambuja Cements’ ongoing commitment to rural upliftment aligns with its broader mission to foster socio-economic development. The company’s efforts aim to create long-lasting impacts by improving employability and empowering communities, thus contributing to India’s nation-building objectives. Through these initiatives, Ambuja Cements continues to drive meaningful changes in rural lives, positioning youth for better career prospects and sustainable livelihoods.
