The Office Gap Is Real: alt.f coworking Is Building Premium Office Spaces For Rent For India’s 6 To 40 Person Small Business Teams

GURUGRAM: India’s small businesses are growing faster than ever. But somewhere between a 6-person founding team and a 40-person company, there exists a painful gap in the office market, one that traditional commercial real estate refuses to address. Leases are too long, spaces are too large, and costs are too high for businesses that are nimble, lean, and moving fast. alt.f coworking, one of India’s fastest-growing flexible office spaces for rent providers and a brand featured on Shark Tank India Season 4, was built specifically to close this gap.

Today, alt.f coworking operates 18+ centres across Gurugram, Delhi, Noida, and Hyderabad, with new centres opening soon in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, and Chennai. Every location is purpose-built for one specific customer: the small business with a team of 6 to 40 people that needs a serious, professional office, without the serious, crippling cost.

The Problem No One Was Solving

India has over 63 million registered MSMEs, the vast majority of which are small businesses with teams under 50 people. For a growing company with 6, 15, or 35 employees, the commercial office market has historically offered two bad choices: sign a 3-5 year lease for a space that is too large and too expensive, or squeeze into an ad-hoc setup that undermines the credibility the business has worked hard to build. Neither option serves the business. Both options slow it down.

alt.f coworking was founded with a clear answer to this problem. Co-founders Yogesh Arora and Sarthak Chhabra saw first-hand how small business owners were being priced out of professional workspaces in their own city. Their vision: build a coworking brand that makes premium offices genuinely accessible, not as a watered-down compromise, but as a full-featured, design-forward workspace that any business would be proud to call their address.

“The sweet spot that no one was serving was the 6-to-40-person team, a business that is past the garage stage, has real clients, real ambitions, and a real need for a professional office, but is not yet large enough to justify a traditional commercial lease. That is exactly who we built alt.f for. Premium infrastructure, flexible terms, and a space that makes your team proud to come to work.”

— Yogesh Arora, Co-founder, alt.f coworking

Built for Small. Designed for Serious

alt.f’s workspace model is engineered around the needs of teams between 6 and 40 people, the growth stage where a business needs more than a single desk but far less than a 10,000 sq ft corporate floor. Private office suites sized for 6, 10, 20, and 40-person teams, dedicated desks, fully-equipped meeting rooms, and customisable managed offices are all available on flexible terms with no lock-in periods, no brokerage fees, and no hidden charges. Teams can move in within days, and scale their space as their headcount grows.

For small businesses that need a prime registered address for GST, client correspondence, or brand credibility before committing to a full office, alt.f’s virtual office plans offer a professional business address and mail handling at a fraction of the cost of a physical seat. And when the team is ready to move in, the transition to a dedicated private office is seamless. The coworking space in Gurugram on Golf Course Extension Road and MG Road, the coworking space in Noida across Sectors 62, 68, and the Expressway, and coworking space in Delhi at Mohan Cooperative, Connaught Place and Okhla are among the most in-demand addresses for growing small business teams across Delhi NCR.

In Hyderabad, alt.f’s centres in the Financial District and Begumpet are rapidly becoming the address of choice for small business teams in one of India’s fastest-growing commercial markets. From fintech startups to regional distribution companies, the typical alt.f member in Hyderabad is a team of 8 to 30 people looking for a workplace that matches their ambition.

Taking the Mission National

alt.f’s upcoming expansion to Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, and Chennai is a direct response to demand from small business teams across India that are looking for the same quality, flexibility, and affordability that alt.f has delivered in Delhi NCR and Hyderabad. Each of these cities is home to thousands of 6–40-person companies,  agencies, tech firms, consulting practices, D2C brands, and services businesses  that are currently underserved by both the premium co-working brands built for enterprises, and the budget operators who compromise on quality.

With India’s flexible office market projected to grow from $3.98 billion in 2026 to $7.71 billion by 2030, and the majority of that demand driven by small and micro businesses, alt.f is positioned to become the defining office brand for this segment across every major Indian city.

About alt.f coworking

alt.f coworking is India’s leading flexible workspace brand built for small business teams of 6 to 40 people, founded in 2016 by Yogesh Arora and Sarthak Chhabra. Featured on Shark Tank India Season 4, alt.f operates 18+ centres across Gurugram, Delhi, Noida, and Hyderabad with new locations opening in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, and Chennai. The brand offers private office suites, managed offices, coworking spaces, virtual offices, and meeting rooms, all designed to help growing small businesses operate from a premium address without the burden of long-term commercial leases.
