NEW DELHI (India CSR Correspondent): National – As Poshan Maah (Nutrition Month) unfolds, Adani Wilmar Limited (AWL), a titan in India’s food FMCG sector, proudly rolls out the success metrics of its Fortune SuPoshan Project under CSR – Corporate Social Responsibility.
Incepted in 2016, this initiative has steadily carved out a success path, considerably amplifying the health and nutritional profile of children below five years, women in their reproductive phase, and adolescent girls.
While the company has chosen to remain tight-lipped about the financial aspects of this CSR initiative, the effects radiate through six pivotal regions of India: Bundi, Godda, Raigarh, Dhamra, Haldia, and Tharad.
Detailed Analysis by Iotalytics
An endline scrutiny helmed by the New Delhi-centric Iotalytics Research and Analytics Pvt. Ltd. sheds light on the indomitable spirit and efficacy of the Fortune SuPoshan interventions.
This dedicated project, under the patronage of AWL and the hands-on approach of the Adani Foundation, has bolstered health standards for the young populace across these chosen sites. The focus zones included detecting and mitigating three principal malnutrition indicators: stunting, wasting, and underweight.
A Look at the Numbers and A Forward Vision
Bearing testimony to the project’s magnanimity, the numbers speak volumes. Spanning across 415,694 individuals in the selected regions, the project reached into 315 villages, leveraging the grassroots structures of 582 anganwadis. Instrumental in this outreach were the 190 Sanginis, the unsung community heroes who volunteered with unparalleled zeal.
The community, with 26,204 children, 70,620 women, and 26,306 adolescent girls, has experienced a monumental shift in their health trajectories, uplifting an astounding 77,326 households.
As the curtains drop on the project’s second phase (2018-23), Dr. Priti Adani, the Chairperson of Adani Foundation, resonates the sentiment, “Our mission was not just to address malnutrition but to infuse knowledge, create engagement, and forge a healthier future, pivoting around the crucial 1000-days life cycle. Today, we witness the realization of that dream.”
