Accenture India’s Managing Director Emphasizes Sustainability as Business Value and Environmental Impact
NEW DELHI (India CSR): In a major move to fortify its commitment to environmental sustainability, Accenture in India is set to add more than 200 electric vehicles (EVs) to its transportation fleet. This initiative, launched in conjunction with World Environment Day, is part of Accenture’s objective to provide climate-smart travel options for its employees across four key locations: Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and the National Capital Region.
This innovative measure aligns with Accenture’s global commitment to facilitate tangible environmental changes and implement sustainable operations. These ambitious initiatives include reaching net-zero emissions by the end of 2025, achieving zero waste, and developing a comprehensive plan to address water risk.

Accenture India’s Country Managing Director, Ajay Vij, stated, “We embed sustainability into everything we do, with everyone we work with, creating both business value and sustainable impact. The introduction of electric vehicles in our fleet will enable climate-smart travel options for our people in India and further our commitment towards running sustainable business operations and meeting our net zero emissions goal.”
As of 2022, Accenture has already made significant strides in its sustainability efforts. It has achieved a renewable electricity mix of over 99% in its offices and has successfully reused or recycled 100% of its e-waste from computers and workstations in India. Beyond its internal operations, Accenture assists clients worldwide in leveraging sustainability as a competitive advantage. The company actively conducts applied research in emerging technologies to solve pressing sustainability challenges.
