NEW DELHI (India CSR): ABB India Limited, a leading technology-driven industrial giant, has once again demonstrated its deep-rooted commitment to community welfare by spending Rs 26.23 crore on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities during the financial year ending December 31, 2024. Exceeding the mandated CSR expenditure of Rs 21.96 crore under Section 135 of the Companies Act, ABB India has not only met but surpassed its responsibility to society by strategically investing in sustainable development projects.

This year’s CSR performance stands as a testimony to the company’s vision of “Writing the Future Together” and reflects its values of Curiosity, Courage, and Care.

One of the central themes of ABB’s CSR policy is to empower youth and children through access to quality education and skill development.

  • Women Engineering Scholarship Program: 200 meritorious women were awarded long-term scholarships in collaboration with the Lila Poonawalla Foundation.
  • Government ITI Refurbishment, Peenya: Rs 38.25 lakh spent on upgrading technical education facilities.
  • Teachers Enablement & Classroom Digitization: 89 government schools in Bengaluru were modernized to improve teaching standards.

2. Healthcare and Social Inclusion

The company expanded its healthcare support by collaborating with established NGOs and foundations.

  • Mobile Healthcare Units: Operated in partnership with Helpage India, benefiting over 2.8 lakh individuals.
  • Support to Pediatric Cardiac Centre (Child Heart Foundation) and Sri Shankara Cancer Foundation for life-saving treatment infrastructure.
  • Sanitation and Hygiene Programs in Peenya Industrial Area saw large-scale transformation through cleanliness drives and safety enhancements.

3. Environmental Sustainability & Community Development

ABB India’s projects embraced sustainability at scale by promoting green practices, environmental conservation, and infrastructure development.

  • Material Recovery Facility (Kasol, Himachal Pradesh): Waste management facility established with Healing Himalayas Foundation.
  • Green School Campus Program: Partnered with the Nehru Foundation to implement rainwater harvesting and environmental education in schools.
