United Way of Baroda is striving to serve the communities who belong to the underprivileged sect of the society for 34 years and still counting. It has been providing support to underprivileged communities all over Gujarat state in the five sectors: Education, Health, Income stability, Social inclusion, and Environment. While taking into consideration of Livelihood opportunities by UWB, it is not only focusing on needy women and men but for differently abled groups of individual as well.
United Way of Baroda under their Philanthropy campaign identified the needs of the deprived communities and serving them to meet up their needs. UWB with the support of NGO partner V-one Society, recognised the situation of the differently abled individuals and thereby organised an event to distribute tricycles which has helped them to mobilise from one place to another and support for their livelihood purposes also.
Distribution of Tricycle took place after welcome speech by Dr. Binita Verdia, Deputy Director-UWB and humble words from Guest of honour by Pinakin Shah – Trustee- UWB. The state of happiness was seen on the face of the beneficiaries when they were served with the tricycle. Event not only added up with tricycle distribution but also, they were served with delicious food and juice with complete taken care of hygiene.
The event was graced by UWB treasurer – Minesh Patel, Pinakin Shah- Trustee-UWB, Hemant Shah- RDC-Chair, Dr. Binita Verdia- Deputy Director-UWB and NGO partner Ashok Bhatt- President- V-one Society.

Natwarlal, one of the beneficiaries was grateful to UWB by quoting, ‘’ I used to sell samosas by sitting at a footpath. Due to this, I could not be able to sell much more samosas and because of this I was financial crisis. UWB provided me with a tricycle and through this medium I would be able to sell samosas which I made at different streets. I thank UWB for providing me with this vehicle and making my work at an ease.’’
Mohanbhai, one of the beneficiaries who could not start any work on the basis of his medical condition. He thanked UWB by quoting,’’ I could not handle up any work and move from place to place. Through the tricycle which I have received by UWB, I will be starting up phenyl and acid selling. The cabin which has been made behind tricycle will help me to take the material and supply it from place to place. I would like to thank UWB for providing me and making me financially better.’’
