New Delhi – Asian Paints Ltd spent Rs 52.70 cr on CSR during FY 2018-19 (Apr-Mar), with an aim to promote education, create employability, enable access to quality, primary health care services, ensure environmental sustainability by conserving natural resources with a focus on water conservation, replenishment and recharge.
The company also encourages its employees to participate in volunteering activities that strengthen the ability to deliver CSR initiatives.
During FY 2018-19, more than 123 employees participated in four events that directly impacted over 1,200 beneficiaries in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The company launched its first initiative under SPARSH in January, 2019.
SPARSH is a translation of organisational values and commitment to communities, business and the nation as a whole overarching programme for employee volunteering.
The company conducted various employee volunteering initiatives during the year, under the identity ‘SPARSH’.
The employee volunteering initiatives includes, drawing competition for children from company’s adopted schools, Me Super Hero, a wish fulfillment programme for terminally ill children, Naya Savera, a skill enhancement programme for better livelihood and Plogging, a marathon where employees jogged and picked up litter.
The employees participated enthusiastically, creating awareness for clean surroundings and collected 1 ton of waste materials under the project.
The company continues to bring positive change in communities and enhance engagement among people through these programmes.
