NEW DELHI: Adani Foundation is implementing a CSR project – SuPoshan Project across 11 States reaching out to 1.5 million populations. This community-based intervention has so far helped 8687 acutely malnourished children to achieve healthy status, company informed.
The project has also helped one lakh mothers and women to understand their health issues and free themselves from anaemia through counselling and support.
Adani Wilmar’s SuPoshan implemented by Adani Foundation won the BSNL Dainik Jagran CSR Awards in the Health category. The awards were presented in New Delhi by Manoj Sinha, Minister of State for Communications and Minister of State for Railways.
Adani Foundation’s SuPoshan Project strives to address the issues of malnutrition and anaemia with a life-cycle approach that includes community-based management. There is a fine balance between the curative and preventive aspects of SuPoshan’s strategy for reducing the occurrence of malnutrition and anaemia.
Suposhan Sangini is a village health volunteer who plays a pivotal role in spreading awareness, referral and promoting behaviour change among the target groups to achieve the project objectives. A total of 570 SuPoshanSanginis are working with 3,00,750 households in 1200 villages and 94 slums across the country.
