NEW DELHI: Roundtable discussion on CSR for Science and Tech Education for Better India will be held at PHD Chamber of Commerce in New Delhi on March 8, 2018 during 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Dr. Joseph Sebastian, the Global Head of Faizal and Shabana Foundation, CSR of KEF Holdings, a global infrastructure, healthcare and investment development major will be a panelist at the forum.
A doctorate in Social Work, Dr. Sebastian has over 2½ decades of social development experience. As part of the Foundation, he has led several new and innovative projects. Promoting Regional Schools to International Standards through Multiple Interventions – PRISM project (known as Nadakkavu Model) was led by him and through the project Govt. Vocational Higher Secondary School for Girls, Nadakkavu, Kerala has become one among the top 3 Government Schools of India. The same project has now been scaled up by the Government of Kerala to 1,000 more Govt Schools.
Started career as a Community Development Worker in Kothad, an island village near Ernakulum, Dr. Sebastian moved to be an Academician, being a Lecturer, Head of Department and subsequently the Principal of YCISS, Satara, Maharashtra. While doing his PG itself he had cleared his NET and completed his PhD at the age of 29. At 30 he was the youngest Principal. He also set up and within three years made the School of Social Work at Marian College, Kuttikkanam, Kerala among the best three in the State.
Prior to becoming the Head of Faizal and Shabana Foundation, Dr. Sebastian was the Executive Director of Indo Global Social Service Society – the youngest and only Malayalee in its history. He turned around IGSSS within a year and half of joining, which at that time was sinking, to a totally rejuvenated Non Profit. He was the Director Operations and Director Monitoring and Evaluations at Project Concern International, a US Non Profit.
