BANGALORE: Seagate, a global leader in data storage solutions, developing products that enable people and businesses around the world to create, share and preserve their most critical memories and business data, is supporting GlobalHunt Foundation to set up science labs in government schools in Bangalore.
Seagate volunteers participated in a volunteering activity with the children at GHPS School on June 8th, 2017. Volunteers through the theme of ‘Constructive science’ made the children realize the importance of science in their lives.
They also helped the children understand the importance of education through the interactive skit performance. These activities conducted to highlight the significant contribution of science and technology in the world’s development.
This project of setting up STEM labs is likely to benefit around 300 students gain practical knowledge in science subjects. These labs will enable students Improve their learning and increase higher level of thinking in this field.
The lab is equipped with materials related to Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.
Venkat Naraina, Senior Engineering Director at Seagate said, “We at Seagate support initiatives where children are encouraged to build a sustainable future. Activities organized by Seagate volunteers will inspire children at GHPS Beratena Agrahara School become future innovators and develop an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.”
Dr. Pradip Sarmah, Advisor GlobalHunt Foundation thanked Seagate Technologies and school authorities for coming forward to support the initiative and wished that every child at the school benefit from this programme.
