Sasan Power is India’s first Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) awarded by the Govt. of India. With a capacity of 3,960 MW, Sasan Power supplies electricity to 14 distribution companies across 7 states- benefiting a total population of about 420 million.
Sasan Power has won the Global Sustainability Leadership Award-2016 for Sustainable Community Development for its holistic interventions in the areas of Education, Healthcare, Rural Transformation, Environment and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Sanitation), taking place at the power plant in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh.
The trophy was awarded at a ceremony held at the Middle East Leadership Award Summit in Dubai on October 5, 2016.
