LANJIGARH: With a vision to promote entrepreneurship and empower the local women, Sesa Sterlite under its CSR Project in association with Vedanta Foundation inaugurated a stitching centre in Basantapada in Lanjigarh and Hatamuniguda. Vedanta Foundation through this initiative is supporting the stitching center by providing skills and creating new business opportunities.
This will also provide the associated families with an alternative source of income.On the inauguration of stitching center at Basantapada , Mrs. Lona Nayak –Head CSR attended and thanked the women group .others presented in the eve are Chancher Majhi, Anant Nag, Debendra Mali and around 200 women from nearby villages have attended.
Similarly Mrs. Sarita Rani Sahu –President Women Group has inaugurated the stitching center in the premises of Navabharat Club at Hatamuniguda in the presence of Lona Nayak, Tapaswini Roy, Tapas Pattnaik, Sidhartha Behera, and Pallavi Bose.
On this Occasion Mr K.K.Dave, COO Sesa Sterlite says” Sesa Sterlite is trying to upgrade the skill training of women group by several initiatives for better livelihood in the area. This will be helpful to eradicate poverty in this region”.
The stitching center initially started as a small community program by the local Community, with the idea to provide skill development to the women without them having to leave their houses.
To add further value, the women will be provided exhaustive training sessions which will not only improve their skill sets but also their stitching precision.
Alternatively, the center will be a potential platform for the overall development of women who will also be trained in several life skills such as basic literacy, personality development, accounts and business entrepreneurship, etc.
Sesa Sterlite promotes the same, by providing skills, creating new business opportunities and nurturing social development. At Last Lona Nayak Head csr informed the members to participate actively in the development process of the region. This project will give free training to around 500 women of the peripheral.
