JSPL Employees pay their homage with donation of 260 units of Blood in a Blood Donation Camp held in association with District Blood Bank. Rich Tribute paid to the visionary and founder of OP Jindal Group

ANGUL: On the occasion of his 9th Death Anniversary of Shri Om Prakash Jindal, Visionary & Founder of OP Jindal Group, a mega blood donation camp was organized on March 31, 2014 at JSPL Occupational Health Centre (OHC) in association with District Blood Bank. Employees, workers and family members of JSPL’s Angul unit volunteered to participate in this mega blood donation camp, inaugurated by Mr. DK Saraogi, Executive Director & Location Head. Total 260 units of blood were collected in this mega camp.
Led by Mr. DK Saraogi, Executive Director & Location Head; and Mrs. Sujata Saraogi, President of Jindal Mahila Samiti (JMS) the employees, workers and family members paid floral tribute to Shri OP Jindal in a programme held at JSPL Campus.
Remembering the founder of OP Jindal Group Mr. DK Saraogi said, “From a village farmer Shri OP Jindal became an Entrepreneur and later a Nation Builder. However, in spite of achieving great success in Business he was always connected with the ground and always lived a life of a common man”. Mr. Damodar Mittal, Sr. Vice-President; Mr. SS Rathi, Vice-President; Vikash Goyal, Sr. GM and Mr. SK Sharma, Sr. GM shared their unique experience of working with Shri OP Jindal.
Besides, a business leader and leading industrialist of India, Shri OP Jindal was a social reformer and social servant for society. He has a long list of philanthropic activities. In November 2004, he was conferred the prestigious ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ for his outstanding contribution to the Indian Steel Industry by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He was elected to the Haryana Vidhan Sabha and was the Minister of Power in the Government of Haryana at the time of his death. He was also elected as a Member of the Parliament (Lok Sabha).
Mr. Prashant Hota, Vice-President (CSR) said, “Shri OP Jindal was a visionary and change maker. He worked relentlessly for social development. His work, his passion for welfare of the downtrodden and foresight made him a true Karmayogi”. He thanked the blood bank team, donor and volunteers for their passion and enthusiasm to make this camp a success.
“JSPL has always been helpful to the District Blood Bank in terms of increasing blood availability. Such mega camps, especially in time of summer when the blood collection is very low will be very useful for the district blood bank,” said Dr. Chhanda Charan Sahu, blood Bank Officer. Dr. B. Pal, Mr. Prafulla Das of District Blood Bank along with Social Worker and 103 times blood donor Mr. Subodh Mishra, AGM (CSR) Mrs. Pushpalata Satpathy, Manager (CSR) Mr. Ashutosh Mishra, Sr. Manager (CSR) Mr. Manoj Jha, Asst. Manager (CSR) Ritamoni Borah and other volunteers coordinated the programme.
In addition to this, in the memory of Shri OP Jindal, Jindal Mahila Samiti led by Mr. Sujata Saraogi, President of JMS distributed Musical Instruments at Adrut Children Home and Baby food along with Baby Cradle at Sishu Gruha, Angul. Food items and detergent cakes at Kanyashram, Boinda. Mosquito nets, plastic chairs and table was donated to Kalpataru Ashram, an old age home.
In a message Subrat Ratho, Head of Odisha Business of JSPL gave a call to the JSPL employees to commit themselves to nation building and bring a holistic prosperity drawing inspiration from the life of Shri OP Jindal, Founder of Jindal Group.
