34 workshops to be organized across 24 locations in India to address the financial needs of women in the lower income segment

NEW DELHI: DSP BlackRock Investment Managers Pvt. Ltd., one of the premier asset management companies in India, has partnered with Parinaam Foundation to organize a series of financial literacy workshops to address the financial needs of women in the lower income segment. Over 1000 women across India would benefit from the initiative.
Under the ‘Diksha Financial Literacy Program’, these financial literacy workshops aim to educate women from the lower income sections of the society and impress upon them the importance of understanding basic financial planning, which are critical for their day to day lives and for a safe and secure future.
The workshops are divided into five modules spread over five weeks which includes sessions on simple numerical skills; how to maintain a financial record of her income and expenditure; understand the importance of savings and her different options; most crucially, understand how to borrow within their capacity to repay and to be in control of their financial condition.
These workshops will be organized in 24 locations across India, which include Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat, Ajmer, Jaipur, Alwar, Bengaluru, Hosur, Salem, Erode, Dhanbad, Baramunda, Puri and Cooch Behar. Each city will have a minimum of two slots of 60 women and a few branches will have four slots of 120 women.
