Haryana Chief Secretary Calls for Increased CSR Project Submissions
CHANDIGARH (India CSR Correspondent): At a recent meeting focused on corporate social responsibility (CSR), Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal urged administrative secretaries, heads of departments (HODs), and Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to submit potential projects eligible for CSR implementation from their respective departments.
Education Sees Largest Share of CSR Funds
Haryana has emerged as a leader in the region in terms of CSR spending, having invested Rs 1,457.13 crore over the past three years. Notably, education received the largest share of these funds, with Rs 538.85 crore allocated during this period. A significant portion of this investment has been dedicated to education, marking it as the primary beneficiary of these funds during this period.
Dedicated Web Portal Facilitates Project Submission
To streamline the process of project identification and implementation, the Haryana State CSR Trust (HSCSRT) has established a dedicated web portal (haryanacsr.org). This platform allows all government departments and districts to submit their proposed CSR projects.
Two Categories of CSR Projects
Chief Secretary Kaushal highlighted two categories of CSR projects based on their timelines for execution and completion. Category I projects are those that can be implemented within the current financial year (by March 31, 2024). Category II projects, on the other hand, have a longer execution window of one to two years and will be implemented in phases.
This initiative by the Haryana government demonstrates its commitment to leveraging CSR funds to address critical social needs and further enhance the state’s development. By encouraging active participation from various departments and districts, Haryana is poised to continue its leadership role in responsible corporate social responsibility.
