KOLKATA: The major impediments to the growth and development of our nationĀ are poverty, hunger, illiteracy, unemployment and lack of affordable healthcare.Ā  Education alone is critical to break the inter-generational transmission of poverty – enabling the youth to break out of the poverty trap. Despite growing investment in education, India continues to face stern challenges.Ā  Over 35% of its population is illiterate; only 15% reach high school, and just 7% graduate out of college. Higher education takes the nation out of the clasps of poverty and leads to prosperity.

ā€˜Anant’, launched in March 2011, aims to ā€œEmpower Education & Eliminate Povertyā€. Anant’s Mission suggests that meritorious students from the economically weaker sections of society will be given Scholarships for further studies. Anant’s Vision is to empower education, eliminate poverty, promote education, culture and an all-round development of society, irrespective of caste, creed, faith or race.

AnantĀ offers academic scholarships to a large number ofĀ meritorious students to pursue higher studies after successful completion of high-school education. We aspire to facilitate higher education and provide vocational training and motivational workshops to help in overall moral, personality and lifestyle development of these students.

An annual scholarshipĀ amount of Rs.6,000/- per student will be disbursed at Rs.500/- per month directly to Bank Accounts opened by Anant with Allahabad Bank, Gariahat Branch, every month and students will be able to access the same through Debit/ATM Cards and Cheque Books.

Anant Education Initiative has a target to support 100,000 Students by 2020, thus contributing to a generic nation-building process.

In 2011, Anant AwardedĀ  Scholarships toĀ  252 Students

In 2012, Anant is awarding Scholarships toĀ 5,000 Students

In 2013, Anant aspires to awardĀ Scholarships to 10,000 Students

In 2014, Anant plans to give Scholarships toĀ 15,000 Students and by 2020, Anant targets to disburse Scholarships to 100,000 Students.

Our DonorsĀ contribute Rs.500/- per month & upwards, and their entire contribution is used towards the Scholarship value while all the administrative expenses are borne by the Infinity Group. We are ready to collaborate and support Scholarship Initiatives & Trusts who are in similar activities. Such scholarships will bear the name and brand of those initiatives. Anant has been supported by donors like Rupa, Srei, Srijan, TCI, Orion, Shyam Group, Mortex, Fogla Group, India Carbon, Ratnabali, Sureka Group, Assam Roofing, Techno Electric, Harsh & Payal Foundation, Teeveetronics, Bengal Chambers, PRSI & Rotary Majestic.Ā  Jadavpur & Presidency Alumni Associations, NCE Bengal, Lady Brabourne College and other institutions of repute have joined Anant as academic partners.

India CSRMr. N. R. Narayana Murthy, Chairman Emeritus of Infosys Ltd; Prof. D.P. Tripathi, Member of Parliament; Mr. Sovan Chatterjee, Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation and Mr. Ravindra Chamaria, Chairman of the Infinity Group & Anant Education Initiative graced the Scholarship disbursement ceremony on 3August 2012.Ā

NOT Just Scholarship !!Ā  Anant would help in creatingĀ  an ā€œAnant Communityā€, plan to Monitor the Progress of Education, organize Seminars, Career Counselling, Soft Skill & Vocational Skill Enhancement, Effective Personality Development programmes, Training & Placement, encourage Entrepreneurship as also invest & Incubate Start-ups from this Community. Last, but not the least, inculcate amongst these Scholars a sense of ā€œGiving -Sharing -Contributingā€.

Help us to collaborate with you. Help us to multiply the numbers. Help us to make this a National Movement !!
