Vision for a Developed Bharat: A Blueprint for Global Prosperity

NEW DELHI (India CSR): Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s recent address at the Economic Times World Leaders’ Forum resonated with a strong message of optimism and a clear vision for Bharat’s future. With a focus on Bharat’s economic transformation and global aspirations, PM Modi outlined a roadmap that underscores the nation’s potential to lead in various sectors. His speech emphasized Bharat’s unique journey, marked by significant reforms, innovative policies, and a commitment to inclusive growth.

Here are major essential takeaways from his address that every global leader, economist, and citizen should know.

Bharat’s Economic Resilience

Sustained Growth Amid Global Challenges

PM Modi highlighted the remarkable growth of Bharat’s economy, which has expanded by nearly 90% over the past decade, outpacing global economic growth. “Bharat has often outperformed predictions and its peers,” he noted, underscoring the country’s resilience and ability to thrive even in challenging global environments.

A Neo-Middle Class Emerges

Over the last decade, 25 crore people have risen out of poverty, forming a neo-middle class that is now a driving force behind Bharat’s economic engine. PM Modi emphasized that this new class is not just a statistical figure but a testament to the government’s efforts in empowering the poor and fostering economic inclusion.

Government’s Commitment to Reforms

Three Times the Speed in Third Term

Reflecting on his government’s achievements, PM Modi assured that the current administration would work “at three times the pace” during its third term. He highlighted the ongoing modernization of physical infrastructure, expansion of social infrastructure, and the steady advance of reforms aimed at benefiting all citizens.

Massive Infrastructure Investments

The Prime Minister mentioned several large-scale infrastructure projects, including the foundation of Vadhavan Port and the approval of new industrial cities. These initiatives, valued at billions of rupees, are set to transform Bharat’s economic landscape and create vast employment opportunities.

Bharat as a Global Manufacturing Hub

Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Schemes

Bharat is on a mission to become a global manufacturing hub, supported by the success of the PLI schemes. PM Modi pointed out that MSMEs are receiving unprecedented support, with industrial parks and economic corridors being developed across the country.

Promoting Critical Minerals

The government is actively promoting the production of critical minerals, crucial for the country’s manufacturing ambitions. This strategic move is expected to bolster Bharat’s position in the global supply chain and attract significant foreign investment.

A Knowledge-Driven Economy

Investing in Education and Innovation

PM Modi spoke passionately about Bharat’s goal to become a hub of skills, knowledge, research, and innovation. He announced the establishment of a Rs 1 lakh crore research fund and the opening of foreign university campuses in Bharat, which will save middle-class families significant education expenses.

Expanding Medical Education

In the last decade, Bharat has added nearly one lakh new MBBS and MD seats, doubling the capacity that had remained stagnant for seven decades. This expansion is part of a broader strategy to make Bharat a global center for health and wellness.

A Global Food Basket

Made in Bharat on Every Table

Bharat aims to become the world’s global food basket, with a vision of having a ‘Made in Bharat’ food product on every dining table worldwide. The government is focusing on organic farming, improving dairy and seafood quality, and promoting millets—a superfood that has garnered global attention.

Organic and Natural Farming Push

PM Modi highlighted the emphasis on organic and natural farming, which not only supports environmental sustainability but also enhances Bharat’s reputation as a producer of high-quality, health-conscious food products.

Green Energy Leadership

Commitment to Green Hydrogen

Bharat has pledged to develop the capacity to produce 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030, with the support of all G-20 countries. This initiative is a significant step towards establishing Bharat as a leader in the global green energy sector.

500 Gigawatts of Renewable Energy

By 2030, Bharat aims to generate 500 Gigawatts of renewable energy, further solidifying its commitment to sustainable development and reducing its carbon footprint.

Tourism and Technology as Growth Drivers

Revamping Tourist Destinations

The nation is positioning itself as a top tourist destination, with significant investments in enhancing historical and cultural sites, beaches, and small islands. The ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ campaign aims to identify and develop the country’s most popular tourist spots, generating employment and boosting the economy.

Technology and Quantum Missions

Bharat is actively pursuing several high-tech missions, including the Green Hydrogen Mission, Quantum Mission, Semiconductor Mission, and Deep Ocean Mission. These initiatives are designed to prepare the nation for future challenges and opportunities.

Bharat’s Role in Global Prosperity

Voice of the Global South

PM Modi emphasized Bharat’s emerging role as the voice of the Global South, advocating for a world order that ensures inclusive development. He pointed out that the greatest opportunities in the coming years will emerge from the Global South, with Bharat leading the way.

Bharat’s Dynamic Policies for a Dynamic World

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of dynamic policies that respond to the changing global landscape. Bharat’s strategies are focused on the future, ensuring that the nation is well-prepared to lead in various sectors on the global stage.

A Call to Action for Global Leaders

In his concluding remarks, PM Modi called on global leaders, businesses, and citizens to join Bharat in its journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047. He emphasized the need for innovation, inclusion, and international cooperation, stating, “A prosperous Bharat can pave the way for global prosperity.”
