NEW DELHI: Lanco Infratech Limited (LITL), the leading integrated infrastructure conglomerate with global footprints having business verticals viz. EPC, Power, Solar, Natural Resources and Infrastructure announced that its Lanco Tanjore Power Company Limited (LTPCL) has bagged the GOOD GREEN GOVERNANCE (G Cube) Winner prize for the year 2012.
LTPCL has won this award for the sixth time in a row, demonstrating its powerful commitment towards environment.
The award was presented by Mr Sudhir Vasudeva, Chairman and Managing Director of ONGC to Mr Kiranbhai Padia, Executive Director of LTPCL, recently on the occasion of World Earth Day.
Commenting on the felicitation, Mr. P. Panduranga Rao, CEO, LTPCL, said, “Srishti’s Awards for Good Green Governance are given to those corporate entities, which are doing something extra for the environment, something beyond what is required from them by regulations. The award to LTPCL for sixth time in a row is testimony to its commitment towards Mother Earth. Lanco Tanjore’s efforts in water conservation, reduction in power consumption and its commitment and efforts in promoting health, safety and environment had been acknowledged and felicitated by various authorities in past.
As a group philosophy, we have always been working towards keeping the environment clean and green. LTPCL, the Lanco Group Company operates a 120 MW combined cycle power plant at Karuppur village in Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu since 2005. It’s an ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified company with the core business of power generation by the use of the cleanest technology in gas turbine. The plant produces power with minimum pollution to land, air and water. The specific water consumption of the plant is one of the lowest due to adoption of new technologies like Air Cooled Condenser and other conservation measures like rain harvesting and recycling waste water.
LTPCL along with Lanco Foundation is carrying out various CSR activities in the surrounding villages in the area of improving health, education and environment.
In the recent past, Lanco has bagged national and international prestigious awards for its excellent contributions and performance in various fields.
