Vedanta Organized a Stakeholder Meeting

Stakeholder meetLANJIGARH: Vedanta Aluminum Ltd under its Public Relation & Corporate Social responsibility  has organized a stakeholder meeting on MDM at Lanjigarh looking to  several issue raising in and around country. Vedanta Aluminum Ltd has partnered with the Government of Odisha and Nandi Foundation has been serving for underprivileged school going children in Lanjigarh block of Kalahandi district in Odisha since last one year.

Today the stakeholder meeting on the MDM was inaugurated by Sasmita Majhi, Chairman Lanjigarh Block in the presence of   Prabir Nayak-BDO, Jagadish Benia-Vice chairman, Koustav Ratan Kundu –Head HR and all the elected PRI members (sarapanch & samiti members) along with the Villagers.

In her Speech chairman says “Poverty deprives many underprivileged children from securing the benefits of education. This Mid-Day Meal Scheme has been attracting these underprivileged children to schools and also reduces the number of school going children who drop out due to poverty and financial distress”
Addressing to the community Prabir Nayak-BDO says about the MDM being served in 50 k.m radious area. He got some feedback from the community and told to take necessary steps in order to enhance the quality of food and others for making the center as the best.  He emphasizes community involvement in the total system.

Koustav Ratan Kundu, Associate Vice President, Human Resources, Vedanta, told in his speech  that Vedanta will always be there to ensure the quality of life of the communities it serve and has been trying to make the area more developed in term of Health, Education and livelihood. He became delighted after getting feedback from the people about increasing the school attendance due to serving of MDM from Naandi.

The Mid-Day Meal Programme in Lanjigarh has benefited 18000 children in 200 schools.
Vedanta has provided the infrastructure that would be required for successful rollout of the Mid-Day Meal Programme while Naandi Foundation, an NGO that provides top-class Mid-Day Meal Services in various towns and cities across the country, will take charge of the day-to-day management of the programme.

Others present on the occasion included senior officials of  Vedanta like Rabi Narayan Mishra –Head HSE, Niharika Sahoo-HeadCSR, Ramana-Naandi Foundation, Mr Bhanja-SchoolSI, Sweta Upadhay, Sidhartha Behera, BhagabanHota, Srikant Bohidar, Sridhar Pesnia, Subash Agrawal, TrinathMahakud, Binod Goud, Chandra Pesnia , Srimukh Agasty, Padmini , Pallavi, Alka, Sweety.
