BHUBNESWAR: Vedanta awarded a team of three student film makers from Sambad School of Media and Culture – Sashemeera Mishra, Devyani Patnaik and Soumya Sucharita Das – for securing the third position in Popular Choice category of Vedanta’s ‘Creating Happiness’ film competition. In a college ceremony held on Saturday 14April 2012 at Bhubaneswar, Mr. Arun Bhatt, Head Corporate Communications at Vedanta Aluminium Ltd., presented the three winners with a glorious ‘Creating Happiness’ Trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 along with certificates.

The award ceremony was attended by an enthusiastic bunch of students from Sambad School, faculty and Principal Mr. Gourahari Das, who were all very proud of their team’s success in the National Level film making competition. Mr. Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Chairman of Sambad Group, appreciated the efforts put in by the students.

Vedanta’s Creating Happiness film competition saw participation of 114 students from top 21 media and film schools in the country like FTII, Whistling Woods, MGRFTI, IIMC, Symbiosis, IP College, Xavier’s, Sambad Sachool, ZIMA, Ravenshaw and others who have produced 38 short films that tell the stories of people and communities whose lives have been changed by Vedanta’s community initiatives, creating happiness in the process.
