AHMEDABAD: Motif, a global BPO and KPO service provider, organized its 11th Annual Motif Charity Walk in Ahmedabad today. This event provides a transparent platform for individuals and companies to come together to promote health awareness, and raise funds for different NGOs every year.The 5 km walk /10 km run was flagged off from the L. D. College of Engineering ground, and passed by the B. K. School of Management, Vijay Char Rasta, Helmet Char Rasta, Blind Men’s Association, and PRL.

This year’s highlights were the live music played by school bands, and the enthusiastic dance performances by Motif employees in collaboration with a city based dance troupe, which created a vibrant environment for participants along the route of the Charity Walk.

The beneficiary NGOs of this year’s Charity Walk were:

Jivdaya Charitable Trust: Helps injured stray animals and birds
Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust: Supports victims of social injustice in rural India
Prabhat Education Foundation: Nurtures children with special needs and learning difficulties
Special Olympics Gujarat Charitable Trust: Empowers people with intellectual disabilities

60 companies, including a leading international corporation, supported this year’s Motif Charity Walk to raise funds for four NGOs. A total of Rs. 44 lacs were raised this year through individual registrations, Motif’s matching contribution of Rs. 10 lacs, and sponsorship cheques written directly in the name of the NGOs. The event had over 6,500 participants.

Since 2003, the Motif Charity Walks have raised funds in excess of Rs. 2.97 crore for 31 different NGOs.
