HADLIA: As part of its community development efforts, Tata Power’s Haldia power plant has been organising regular, general as well as specialised health check-up camps on a rotational basis for its communities residing in its neighbouring areas.
Under this healthcare drive, Tata Power’s Haldia team organised a total of eight health camps in its six intervention areas in November. These camps were organised on a rotational basis in different areas such as Patikhali, Durgachak, Mohammadpur, Basulia, Chapi and Srikrishnapur. These camps not only provided free consultation but also distributed free medicines to the community based on the doctor’s prescriptions. Through these camps, the Haldia team reached out to a total of 609 people from the community.
Speaking on this initiative, Abhijit Ain Das, station head, Haldia power plant, said, “The overwhelming response from community, particularly from the aged members, helps us to successfully achieve our objective in conducting such initiatives. We will continue to support the healthcare needs of the surrounding communities and improve their quality of life.”
Through its concerted healthcare initiatives, the Haldia team endeavours to reach out to the most vulnerable groups in its surrounding areas, especially the aged and women, who have insufficient means and limited access to doctors. The objective of organising these camps is to reach out to the needy and provide basic healthcare facilities, including free consultation and medicines.
