JAMSHEDPUR: As part of their curriculum, the cadets of Tata Football Academy (TFA), have been sent for a foreign exposure trip to train and compete in superior footballing environments.
The 11th batch of TFA, comprising of 20 players of 17–18 years of age has gone to Sheffield United Football Club (SUFC), UK for a period of three weeks where they will advantage from the coaching staff of SUFC and receive firsthand experience of professional football at the highest level.
The tie up with SUFC is in its third year. SUFC coaches visit India to guide the coaching staff and players. The program is now taking a step forward as TFA’s senior batch and staff is visiting the SUFC academy.
The team comprising of 20 players, 3 coaches, 1 physiotherapist accompanied by a manager left Jamshedpur on September 1, 2012, and reached UK on September 2. They will start their training from September 3, 2012 onwards.
The TFA team will also play four exhibitions cum competitive matches with Sheffield FC U19, Hallam FC U19, Handsworth FC U19 and Stavely FC U19. People will witness the cadets perform on a platform where the biggest names in world football exist. The opportunity to grow, learn and be seen is up for grabs- and the TFA cadets are ready to make each day count. The team comprises of the following:
