NEW DELHI: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) had allocated one per cent of Profit After Tax (PAT) as non-lapsable budget for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities for year the year 2010-11.
Giving this information in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today, Minister of State for Power Shri K.C.Venugopal said that the total amount allocated for CSR activities by PGCIL for the financial year 2010-11 was Rs.28.80 crores. He said an amount of Rs.15.58 crores was spent against this allocated amount.
The Minister added that the NTPC had allocated an amount of Rs.72.379 crores for CSR activities for the year 2010-11, which is approximately 0.83% of PAT of 2009-10. He said the expenditure incurred by NTPC during 2010-11 for various CSR activities was Rs.72.21 crores.
