Initiative to enhance students’ learning experience and prep them for challenges in the global environment

NEW DELHI: OP Jindal University (OPJU)- Raigarh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the College of New Caledonia (CNC), Canada, to promote excellence in training, research, capacity building and to enrich the learning experience for students, enabling them to understand the global economy and environment.

The MoU signed between the two educational institutions will result in OPJU receiving exposure to international best practices that supports educational, professional, technical, and administrative knowledge.
OPJU and CNC will encourage collaboration in any area of mutual interest, designed to enhance the learning experiences for their students, and the personal and professional development of the staff members. The collaboration aims to ensure that students graduating from OPJU are equipped to handle and overcome challenges they face in the highly-competitive global environment.
Speaking about the tie-up, Col.Prakash Tewari, Group Head- CSR & Education, JSPL & Secretary, JSPL Foundation said, “This strategic partnership between the two institutions underscores the importance of global collaborative initiatives. The initiative will help promote and expand international learning through collaborative and exchange lectures, conferences, seminars, and other academic meetings particularly in the field of Power Engineering or Power Plant Technology.”
The initiative will also help in exploring and development of course articulation between institutions. It will further help in collaborative research programs and projects, as well as publication of the achievements and developments made through collaboration in the field of Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Exchange programs for the faculty will help them stay abreast with the latest international practices, arming them with the newest teaching methodology, thereby inculcating an environment that fosters innovation, managerial leadership and creativity.
OP Jindal University
O. P. Jindal University, Raigarh (C.G.) has been established through an Act of Legislature of Chhattisgarh Government in August 2014. It is promoted by Jindal Steel and Power Limited, (a part of US $ 18 Billion O P Jindal Group). The University aims to impart value based, innovation driven education and training for empowering youth to attain research based knowledge and wisdom for the welfare of the society.
The University will have the faculties of Engineering and Technology, Science, Education, Management, Physical Education, and Community Education. The O.P.Jindal Institute of Technology Punjipathra Raigarh which is running B.E. Programmes in Civil, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical and Metallurgical Engineering will now become a constituent part of O.P.Jindal University, Raigarh.’
Jindal Institute of Power Technology (JIPT) is conducting training for Power Personnel since 2008 in recognition with Central Electricity Authority of India. Major portion of huge infrastructure at JIPT shall be utilizing by OPJU, Punjipathra in conducting B.Tech in Power Engineering & B.Tech in Mining Engineering
Nestled in the heart of Prince George, the College of New Caledonia has played an important role in training and educating residents in northern B.C. since 1969. CNC offers more than 50 programs in health sciences, trades and technologies, social services, business and university studies and is an integral part of what makes Prince George a great place to live and learn.
CNC provides affordable tuition, practical, hands-on learning and no more than 37 students in a class, which makes it easier for students to achieve their goals. The college’s health sciences programs continuously train qualified professionals, such as nurses, medical laboratory and medical radiography technicians and dental hygienists and assistants.
