Harish Rawat, Minister of State, GOI Released Booklet on “CBI Capacity Building Programme on CSR”.

NEW DELHI: On the completion of very unique model of  Indo-Dutch CSR collaborative  project, Shri Harish Rawat, Minister of State, Agriculture, Food Processing Industries and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India released  booklet on CSR Capacity Building program at international conference hosted by SR Asia in New Delhi on 18-19 October 2012.

The booklet titled “CBI Capacity Building Programme on CSR” is based on a pilot project completed by CBI, Govt. of Netherlands  project and provided information on the companies and CBI consultants involved in the project. It showcase case studies of a Pilot Project of the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries.

The study provides an interesting insight into the workings of some of the most successful SME’s in India and their business practices, said  Dr. K. K. Updhayay, Head- FICCI- Aditya Birla CSR Center of Excellence  and cooperating partner of the program.

Speaking on this occasion Mr. Brat Slob,  Sr. Program Manager, CBI (Ministry of  Foreign Affairs, Govt. of Netherlands) briefed about the CBI’s Capacity Building Program in India  that how Dutch Govt. is  sensitizing Indian  companies, exporting their  products and services  to European market. With  growing awareness and education, European buyer is  now looking for  CSR compliant  companies   who can meet  international guidelines of ISO 26000, OECD, UN Global Compact, Said  Brat.

Mr. Wijand  Broer, Director CREM, Amsterdam   and  master trainer of  CBI for Indian CSR consultants also  spoke  about the importance of such collaborative  CSR initiatives  between India and Netherlands , which needs  knowledge sharing   for better understanding and CSR related project implementation.

CBI provided training to many Indian Consultants from Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Dehradun from IT, Textile, Electronic and  Food processing sector.

Indian CSR consultants  are now  certified by CBI,  (Netherlands Govt.) to offer their professional services  in the domain of CSR consulting, baseline & impact assessment,   with special focus on Indian Companies (SMEs) exporting their products and services to European market and also for European Companies  coming to India on their  strategic CSR programs, said SR Asia Director  Birender Raturi.

The conference was also addressed by eminent speakers from various fields as well as leading personalities from government, policy makers, industry and voluntary organisations on a common platform to discuss and facilitate partnerships for developing socially responsible products and services. Prominent speakers who address the conference included Mr. .Manoj Arora, ADG, Ministry of Finance Govt of India, Dr. Uddesh Kohli, Sr. Adviser UNGC, Dy. Director General NPC India. Ms. Aditi Haldar Director GRI India, Mr Jaiveer Srivastavaa Chairman and Managing Director, HPL, Ms. Sumaya Rashid, Country Director SR Asia Bangladesh and many more.

CBI Trained Consultants present are Dr. Hema Swamy, Rama Iyer, Ramesh Harve, Jagdish Mahajan, Mona Gupta, Shishir Bhardwaj, Anil Dhaneshwar, Vikas Bhavsar, Srinivasan,  Anil Chopra,  Dr. A Mathur,  Mr R. P Singh and Anil Jaggi.
