Donated 5 Ambulances & 6 RO water treatment equipment worth 2.7 million INR to institutions in Chennai

CHENNAI: Mitsubishi Electric India under their Corporate Social Responsibility partnered with Rotary International Platform to Support Social Infrastructure Development of Chennai mitigating institutions to support the flood rehabilitation activity of the 2015 South Indian floods resulted from heavy rainfall during the annual northeast monsoon in November–December 2015 with Tamil Nadu and the city of Chennai particularly hard-hit.
The donation corpus was created by Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd. where employees had donated one day’s salary to the relief and restoration work. The company also equally matched the donation from the employees and was able to create the fund of Rs 2,727,383 for the cause.
The donation money was used to develop social infrastructure in a way which can have long term impact. 5 Ambulances were purchased under the initiative, which were donated to Ambattur Rotary Charitable Trust, Ambattur; Anandam Old Age Homes, Kallikuppam; Little Drops Old Age Home, Paranithur; Mangamma Errappa Naidu Rotary Rural Medical Center, Annanagar; SanthomeSnehatheeram, Thiruvallur.
The ambulances were flagged off from Khivraj Maruti Dealership Plot No. 6, Developed Electrical & Electronics Industrial Estate, Perungudi, ( Near Toll Plaza ), Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Also present on the occasion was the Deputy Managing Director of Mitsubishi Elevator India Pvt. Ltd, Venkatagiri Sand employees of Mitsubishi Elevator India Pvt. Ltd, Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd. and representatives of Rotary International to support the cause.
Also 5 schools in the region were donated a RO water treatment equipment which will ensure clean drinking water to approximately 4200 children who study there. Madras Seva Sadan School, Chetpet; Gupta School, Ambattur; Municipal School, Korattur; Corporation School- Tirutani; Anjugam School – Choolaimeduare the beneficiary school which have received this support from Mitsubishi Electric.Apart from the schools 1 RO was donated to Gosha Hospital, Triplicane which is a 100 bedded hospital.
Present on the occasion Makoto Kitai, Managing Director, Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd. said “It makes me humble to handover the Ambulances and RO equipment to the beneficiaries. We have tried to put the money donated by employees and the company to the best use aiming at long term impact.
