KARNATAKA : JSW Steel, a mega integrated steel plant in Toranagal in Ballari district, has set aside Rs. 37 crore for corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities for 2015-16.
It is an increase from the Rs. 31.60 crore spent last year through JSW Foundation, which takes care of CSR activities of the plant.
C.S. Kedar, Chief Executive Officer, JSW Foundation, told press persons that the objective was to reduce biotic interference in the Daroji bear sanctuary, to minimize the dependency on the electricity grid, to use alternative energy sources for cooking, street lights, domestic lighting, studies among other things, and efficient use of animal waste for producing gasses by having a common cattle shed.
