JSPL provides relief materials to flood victims of Orissa

ANGUL: Keeping in view the plights of the  thousands of distressed families in the flood water bound villages in several districts of Odisha, JSPL as a responsible corporate partner of the Government has responded to this critical situation of the state through wide scale flood relief measures. With its  Arm of Corporate Social Responsibility, JSPL has been providing relief materials for the flood affected families  through food materials, Baby Food and other essential commodities to the families consistently for last 5 days.

This relief materials containing  10,000 Kgs of Rice, 2000Kgs of Dal, 3000 Kgs of Chuda, 1000 Kgs of Gud , 700 Kgs of Baby milk-powder, 150 Kgs of Tea dust, 5000 large size  packets of biscuits, 400 Kgs of Salt, 2500 numbers of Polysheets (18X12 ft), 2500 numbers of Mosquito Coils, 1200 numbers of Torch with battery, 1200 numbers of Stainless glass with spoons, etc has been dispensed to the flood hit and cut off villages of the State in so far in 5 districts including Angul.

The relief  materials  have been packed in family  pack relief kits for easy and quicker dispensation in the flood hit area directly to the distressed people . This is also helping in addressing the convenience of the Users and satisfaction of the providers in reaching directly to the Needy. Speaking about the relief initiative , the Executive Director of JSPL Mr. Rajesh Jha said “ In this critical juncture we express our heartfelt solidarity with the People of Odisha and extend our hands of support to help the affected families.  We shall continue to discharge our responsibility for our brethren in the State who are fighting this calamity at present”

The  self driven Team CSR of JSPL , has suo motto started the  Relief initiative from the affected villages of Athamallik Sub division  of Angul District  with the support  of the affected  village committees,  various Youth Clubs and other like minded Social service Institutions, Individuals and Leaders with effect from  11th Sep, 2011 and  so far covered  several worst hit villages in Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Sambalpur and Sonepur districts  of the state within this short span of time.

“Our CSR team is working hard to help the flood affected people . We are working 24X7 to dispense  flood relief  at site  at this critical time of Need. We understand that timely  and need based Relief actually relieves the distressed . Therefore we are working both from Angul and Cuttack for procuring and dispensing the materials“” said Mr. Prashant Kumar Hota, AVP,CSR.
