THANE: Parivartan (a change) was seen in the attitude of Thane Municipal Schools Students due to the efforts put by EMCO foundation. Considering the importance of Personality development, EMCO Foundation started their project called Parivartan (an initiative for personality development) in the year 2008.
The fifth edition of Parivartan Annual convocation was successfully commenced on 3 March at Gadkari Ragayatan, Thane. Around 400 students of 9 Standard from 13 Thane Municipal school participated in the Event with enthusiasm. The Chief Guest for the event was Shri. K.P. Raghuvanshi (Police Commissioner of Thane) and Lion Mahesh Gupta (District Governor Lions Club), also present was Ms Meenakshi Jain (Trustee of EMCO Foundation), Shri S. Ramaswamy the Managing Trustees of EMCO Foundation and Shri Upendra Sontakke Manager for CSR.
The Chief Guests Shri K.P. Raghuvanshi and Shri Lion Mahesh Gupta shared their real life experiences with students and asked them be focused and hard work is the key for achieving success in life. The words of wisdom motivated the students and hope to act as helpful tip to achieve greater heights in life.
The Event was successfully hosted by students of TMC School along with teachers and volunteers of EMCO Foundation. Also School HMs, Teachers, TMC staff, Volunteers, trainers and EMCOites and other invitees were present for the event. The program held during the event was Certificate Distribution, Cultural Programs and testimonial from the students on how the project Parivartan had helped them to bring a change in them.
EMCO Foundation: Established in the year 2007 in Thane, EMCO Foundation (EF) the CSR arm of EMCO Ltd is a registered Public Charitable Trust with a vision ‘To transform lives through sustainable development involving stakeholders’ in India. EF is engaged in a variety of people-centric, social development projects aiming at transforming lives of communities with whom it is involved.
The Foundation works with both urban as well as rural communities. Educational Development, Environmental Conservation & Health Care are the three thrust areas of EF. We strongly believe in participatory approach & considering the mandate of people with whom we are dealing. Our aim is to encourage the involvement of communities, Governmental as well as Non-Governmental Organizations, volunteers & other like-minded people. This approach is clearly reflected in the Foundation’s vision & mission statement, which is at the core of all our operations, irrespective of the issues & partners dealt with. EF currently has presence in Thane, Jalgaon, Vadodara and Dadra Nagar Haveli and plans to have a pan India presence in the coming years.
EF works closely with the Education Department of the Thane Municipal Corporation, Jalgaon Municipal Corporation and Trust Run Maharana Pratap School in Jalgaon in developing students for better future. EF takes multiple projects for 13 TMC Schools, 3 JMC schools and MP School and slum communities in Thane and Jalgaon such a “Yashasvi”-Scholarship support for needy SSC scholar students, “Shiksha”- to create interest among children for education through joyful teaching & encourage parents to enroll children in school for continued education, “Parivartan”-Soft skill enhancement project, Career Guidance, Health awareness, digital learning through E class.
EF also implements activities in the areas of Environment preservation through tree plantation, solar lamp distribution in tribal areas and in Healthcare, organizes blood donation camps every year at all our locations. Apart from regular programs EF organizes Joy Of Giving Week since last three years and contributes in the national level event for collection of old useful material to be distributed in needy areas of the Country.
In 2012 with response to the TMC request EF established first of its kind digital classroom in one of the TMC Schools at Dhokali. Students are getting education through digital content from 1st to 10th Std and are enjoying the learning. Teachers find it very useful tool and witnessing the greater impact through audio visual teaching.
EF mission is collaborating and supporting the public school system along with other agencies and like-minded individuals in improving the quality of education through creative and effective programs involving its entire stakeholder and the society at large.
At every level, EF only aim is to improve the public education system rather than creating parallel systems. We have been able to affect the lives of more than 40 thousand people since our inception. However, with more than a 300 million children out of school, every day EF finds innovative ways of ‘Transforming Lives, Changing Destinies’.
