Dr Gourdas Choudhuri is the Director and HOD at department of Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary Sciences at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurgaon. Dr Choudhuri has been actively engaged for the past 30 years in promoting Sanitation and Health and has witnessed people suffer from several diarrhoeal and gastroenteritis diseases which can be prevented if healthy sanitation practices are followed.
Aligned to ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ (Clean India Initiative) Summit is being organized by IndiaCSR Group with the support of various likeminded organizations.
Dr Gourdas Choudhuri has been conferred as the Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG), Fellow of Indian College of Physicians (FICP), Fellow of Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS) and the Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (FRCPI). He has also served as a Faculty for 25 years at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow and as Vice Chairman at Institute of Digestive & Hepatobiliary Sciences at Medanta, Gurgaon.
Dr Choudhuri has been closely involved in promoting healthy sanitation practices and has treated several patients suffering from diseases caused as a direct result of poor and defective sanitation. He has made seminal contributions in creating and spreading awareness on health issues in the country, especially among school and college students through his philanthropic organization HOPE Initiative (Health Oriented Programmes and Education). He also authors a weekly column ‘Health Adda’ published in the Hindustan Times.
