LUCKNOW: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing CSR -Concave 2012: Bridging the Healthcare Gap: Strategic CSR in Lucknow on 28 August 2012. The venue of the event is Hotel Clarks Awadh, Aiwan-e-Awadh – I, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.
CSR Conclave will create a win-win situation for both the companies and NGOs. The NGOs are keen on seeking support from corporate organizations on one hand, while corporates are in search of credible implementing partners.
The main objective of the conference is to understanding the present state of Urban & Rural , health in UP : challenges & opportunities, identifying sectors where private participation can be sought towards CSR , exploring the development model including PPP in CSR and the extent of private participation needed to meet the infrastructural development and CSR Priorities in Health Care Sector of UP.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a concept and as a process in businesses is evolving rapidly. Socially Responsible Business (SRB), is as much importance to people and the environment as to financial performance, lays emphasis on ethical conduct, compliance with legal requirements and respect for people, communities and the environment. In the past few years, the private sector has been attempting to mainstream sustainability issues into its business plan in order to achieve the triple objectives of sustained economic growth, social progress and environmental protection.
An equally salient development has been the role of partnerships between businesses and Civil Society Organizations to facilitate implementation. This is an important occurrence since innovative work is being done by several NGOs in remote pockets of India. Unfortunately, since most are resource strapped, they are unable to expand their activities to reach significant scale.
