MUMBAI: Workshop on CSR, Finance and International Development was conducted On 8th and 9th February 2014 at CSR Advisors by Dr. Michael Hopkins – Founder MHCI and CSR&FI Institute, Dr. Huz Khorakiwala – CEO Wockhardt Foundation and Founder CSR Advisors, Satish Jha – CMD of ECCO Electronics Pvt Ltd, Deepak Arora – CEO ESSAR Foundation and Harsha Mukherjee – CEO CSR Advisors.
The various topics that were discussed ranged from understanding about the definitions of CSR and 12 points essential for the growth of CSR were discussed by Dr. Hopkins. Dr. Huz briefed the audience about diverse activities by Wockhardt group and how they can be made sustainable. Satish Jha showcased a fine model of Social entrepreneurship in the form of ECCO Electronics – Solar Products.
Deepak Arora spoke about CSR Business case and the government complexities faced by various foundations. Harsha Mukherjee spoke about creating tripartite collaborations and solving real life issues in the slums with the help of CSR.
The participants raised interesting questions and interacted with the speakers. Corporates and industry bodies such as Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Sahara, Khetan and Company, Sodexo, Tata Strategic Management Group, Don Bosco (DBCL), ICCSR and others were present at the conference.
The attendees would be getting course credits from CSR&FI Institute which would head towards Diploma in CSR. CSR Advisors has announced the start of India CSR Institute in this conference which would grant certifications in CSR for executives and they forsee to launch Diploma and PG Degrees in CSR in the forthcoming academic year.
