CSIM to organize conference on CSR and Social Innovations in Hyderabad on June 18

HYDERABAD: CSIM Logo (CSIM) is organizing a one day conference on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Social Innovation here at Centre for Economic & Social Studies (CESS) Auditorium, Ameerpet, Hyderabad on June 18, 2011, Ms Lakshmi Jahanavi, Event Coordinator of the CSIM informed INDIACSR.

Ms Jahanavi said, CSR, as it is referred to frequently, is often perceived as an optional pursuit, which is more a part of philanthropy than of doing business. When CSR meets Social Innovation, it becomes more meaningful. CSR then stands for ‘Caring for Societal Requirements’. “Similar to how an investment ought to reap best profits, an initiative in CSR ought to make maximum social impact. This Conference is a platform to discuss role of CSR in promoting innovative ways for bringing social change.” she added.

This one day conference is designed with following objectives:
(1) Understanding the pivotal role of CSR in Social Innovations.
(2) Highlighting how social innovations can be scaled-up.
(3) Learning the concept of Social Entrepreneurship and its impact on social change.
(4) Understanding the ways and means for promoting social innovations through CSR
(5) Discussing the need and scope for partnership between corporate sector and NGOs for societal benefits.

Here is the list Speakers at the Conference
Mr Santosh Srinivas: Associate Director at the Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, ISB: co-founded a Bangalore based non-profit organization which worked towards streamlining volunteerism, capacity building and consulting for corporates on their CSR initiatives.

Prof PN Murthy: Consulting Advisor, Tata Consultancy Services. is an eminent Aerospace Engineer. Former Prof at IISc, Bangalore and IIT, Kanpur. He was also Co-Founder of the Engineering Staff College of India, Hyderabad.

Mr Jitendra Kalra: CEO- Dr Reddy’s Foundation Mr. Jitendra Kalra had served in the Indian Civil Services for over 10 years. An accomplished international trainer on cluster development, he has also worked with the Commissioner of Industries (Govt. of AP), Department of Science and Technology and Development Commissioner (MSME), Govt. of India.

Mr Raj Menon: Mr Raj Menon has more than 15 years experience in IT software development. He has been associated in different capacities with large organizations like Satyam, Ranbaxy, Silverline, NCST, and handled large projects for clients like Microsoft, Dell Professional Services, Meryll Lynch, McGraw Hill etc.

Mr Shailesh Naik : Mr Shailesh Naik is the General Manager and Head – eChouppal at ITC Agri- Business Division. He has over 15 years experience in managing diverse functions like marketing and sales, production and supply chain across industries like Agri Commodities, FMCG, Automobiles and Financial Services Ms. Bhuvaneshwari Ravi – Head-HR – Eco-Logic Technologies Limited.
