RAIPUR :Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (Balco’s) Bodai Daldali Bauxite mines in Kabeerdham District and Mainpat Bauxite Mine in Sarguja District won Six awards in the semi mechanized category in the Annual Safety Celebrations -2014.The Award Ceremony was organized recently at A.C.C. Jamul.In the function organized under the guidance of Mines Safety Department, Bilaspur Region, companies from Bilaspur and Raigarh area had participated. Mr. Rajesh Mishra, AGM Mines, Balco informed that Bodai Daldali Bauxite Mines got An award for Overall Performance and also the first prize in tyre maintenance category
In the categories of Safety Compliance, Standard of Working and Use of Machinery, the Second Prize was won. Mainpat Bauxite Mines won the Second Prize in Environment Management and Pollutio n Control Categories. The awards were received by on behalf of Balco by Mr. Mishra, Mr. S.C. Sao, GM Mines, and other officers, namely Mr. Pankaj Mehta, Mr. M.L. Mohanta, Mr. P.K.Pandey, Mr. M.K.Pandey, Mr. Piyush Sogra, Mr. A.S.N Murthy, Mr. Ravi Raj and Mr. Kapur Singh from Mr. Anup Biswas, Dy. Managing Director, Mines Safety, Nagpur Region.
Mr. Ramesh Nair, CEO, as well as Mr. Avinash Chand Rai, COO, Balco have congratulated Balco’s Mining Team for the wonderful performance and also given them their good wishes for the future. Mr. Mishra also informed that the function is organized every year for Non Coal Mines who adopt safe working culture and encourage innovative ideas in their operations. In this year’s function, 45 mining companies from Chhattisgarh took part in the High Mechanized, Mechanized and Semi mechanized categories. The inspection of the safety procedures in the mines was done in November
