NEW DELHI: With a strong emphasis on service and giving back to society, Amway Opportunity Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Amway India, will undertake two mega health camps in association with Mahavir International.
The first eye and health camp, scheduled from November 20 to 22, 2013 at Rohini, is exclusively for the students of Government Boys Sr. Secondary School, Sec 16, Rohini. About 1500 students are expected to benefit from this camp. The second health camp, scheduled for November 23, 2013 at Chetnalaya, Basti Vikas Kendra, ‘E’Block, J.J. Colony, Bavana, is open for general public. This health camp would include 04 doctors. All present at the health camp would be provided with free medicines.
These free health camps are a part of AOF’s week-long celebrations nationwide – to commemorate the 10th anniversary of its “Amway One by One Campaign”, through which Amway touches lives of over 1 lakh across India and ten million across the globe.
Commenting on the occasion Mr. William S. Pinckney, Chairman, Amway Opportunity Foundation, said “Amway has been one of the prominent companies in the country who has taken a pivotal role to serve the community, with this free eye checkup and health camp, more people will be benefitted. Amway Opportunity Foundation and Mahavir International have been associated together since 2007. AOF has sponsored over 80 camps in Delhi & NCR so far. This is the second mega health camp of this year, followed by 04 other mega health camps to be conducted in Delhi and NCR.
Mahavir International Delhi, registered in 1979 under the Societies Act 1860, has been the torch bearer of the apex body since its inception. With the underlying objective of serving the humanity at large, Mahavir International Delhi took upon itself the challenge to specialize in & provide quality Eye Care & Health care to the poor & needy strata of society who can ill afford these basic rights. They are running 5 hospitals with 2 ultra modern eye operation theatres and 3 dispensaries in backward area with excellent team of doctors, para-medical staff and state-of-the-art facilities for eyecare which are comparable to even the best of private hospitals & certainly a first among charitable ones. To further its service & reach, the organization conducts a large no. of eye camps & runs several mobile medicare vans in far flung areas & JJ clusters. The Hospitals operational in Delhi are at Nabi Karim, Hauz Rani Market, Shahdra, Mundka & Badarpur chowk.
