NEW DELHI: Amway Opportunity Foundation (AOF), the corporate social responsibility arm of Amway India Enterprises undertook a Tree Plantation Drive at the Deepalaya Enclave Gusbethi near Gurgaon in association with its social service partner “Deepalaya”.
The plantation drive saw the participation of nearly 100 children from Deepalaya and 50 AOF members. As part of the plantation drive, more than 150 Gooseberry and Guava saplings were planted in the vicinity of Deepalaya. Mr Ajay Khanna, AVP – Amway Home spoke extensively on Amway’s R&D and environment contribution through a presentation focusing on the importance of trees and natural resource preservation.
Under its “Go Green” campaign, AOF will sponsor the upkeep and care of these saplings for one year.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Yoginder Singh, Sr. Vice President, Amway India said, “We are much honored to be part of this noble contribution to society and environment. I truly believe that as general and corporate denizens, it is our increased responsibility to conserve, protect and even enhance natural resources. Through such CSR activities, we attempt to create a better world to live in and hence contribute in building the environment further.”
Speaking on the importance of conservation & preservation of environmental resources to students of Deepalaya, Mr. Ajay Khanna, AVP – Amway Home said, “A large number of resources are depleted each day and it’s important for us to preserve our environment to assure economic and social benefit for a longer period of time. Planting trees is one of the many ways of giving back the society, what we have taken from it. I wish more companies follow the steps of Amway India and support this noble cause.”
Amway Opportunity Foundation: AOF is a registered non-profit organization which looks after Amway India’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and has been actively associated with several projects dedicated towards child welfare across the country. All Amway employees and distributors are volunteers of AOF. Each of Amway’s markets is free to decide in which sphere it would like to concentrate its resources. But in essence, AOF is designed to build local partnerships, addressing issues specific to children in their community – Live, Achieve, Learn, and Play.
